I'm Back and it's Fashion Week!!!

Hello friends! I apologize for my absence the last couple months! Life has been hectic with starting a new job and just summer being what it is :) I'm always on the run!

Since it is Fashion Week, I'm dedicating this post to an upcoming designer who I think is absolutely genius and to the largest Target / designer collaboration to date.

First, Iris Van Herpen!!! She is fantastic and people are referring to her as the next Alexander McQueen. Her designs are stunning - a few are a bit wacky - and I love the architectural elements. Check out her new line.

September 13 marks the arrival of Missoni for Target and I CAN'T wait! I may or may not be there right at 8 a.m. when the doors open. This is the largest collaboration with 400 sku #s. The wallet is going to take a hit! It's totally worth it though :) Stay tuned for pics of the items I end up purchasing.

Let me know what you think of Iris and if you're headed to Target too :)

How to be Lovely

Happy Friday!

Sorry I missed ya'll yesterday; I was feeling a bit under the weather.

I found this great artist in Louisiana and she does these incredible paintings of Audrey Hepburn. It inspired me to pull out one of my favorite books about Audrey titled How to be Lovely.

Here are some quotes from the book and a couple of my favorite paintings:

~ I didn't expect anything much and because of that I'm the least bitter woman I know.
~ I could always hear my mother's voice saying, "Be on time and remember to think of others first and don't talk about yourself. You are not interesting. It's others that matter. "
~ Your heart just breaks, that's all. But you can't judge or point fingers. You just have to be lucky enough to find someone who appreciates you.

Fashion Fun!

I have always loved fashion. As a child of the 80s I rocked multiple layers of fluorescent socks, taking plenty of time to ensure each was neatly folded to perfection.

As I've gotten older, my love of fashion has definitely blossomed. I stay on top of trends and rock what I can :)

Here is an article from Fashioning.com, a site I follow, with trends for summer / fall! I am definitely going to invest in some metal cuffs...so much fun! How do you guys feel about the braids? Too "Little House on the Prairie?" Or cute?

A House for a Hobbit

I love design in all its forms i.e. product design, industrial design, interior design etc. Fast Company is one of my favorite publications and they ALWAYS have great design stories. I thought this article was absolutely fascinating and I kind of want to move to Spain to live in one :) Make sure you watch the video and look at all of the photos...very cool. A cavelike house

I'm off to enjoy the sunshine...yes, it does shine in Seattle on occasion! Happy Tuesday!

Why I eat breakfast so late AND a tune for Friday

Good morning friends!

So I'm sure you're thinking, "why hasn't Tiffany posted this morning? I thought she was going to post while she ate breakfast?"

Well kids, I eat breakfast a bit later because I have been working out twice a day! I walk Green Lake with my good friend Laura Mason and then I head straight to my other good friend's house, Ambie, and we do Turbo Fire. Both workouts are incredible and I've lost a ton a weight already this summer!

I was checking my Facebook Newsfeed this morning, and being the social media nerd that I am, I follow quite a few companies I am interested in so it serves as another source of news for me. I found the following quote that I absolutely love:

"Music is important. It says things you heart can't say any other way, and in a language everyone speaks. Music crosses borders, turns smiles into frowns, and vice versa. These observations are shared with a hope: that, when schools cut back on music classes, they really think about what they're doing - and don't take music for granted.” - Dan Rather, CBS News

The quote made me think about one of my favorite music groups / foundations, Playing for Change. Here's a song for your Friday! Stand By Me

Greeting from the Emerald City

"My look is attainable. Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by buying the large sunglasses and the little sleeveless dresses." - Audrey Hepburn

I love Audrey Hepburn and, as you can see, I've borrowed the title of one of my favorite Audrey movies for my blog. Those of you who know me, know I have followed this advice to the "t." I've even darkened my hair to be a bit more Audrey-ish.

This blog is going to be a hot spot for news in music, art, fashion, design, pr and profound tidbits I find to be fascinating along with Tiffany-isms and thoughts sprinkled throughout. As I'm currently unemployed, I will update the blog each morning while I eat breakfast...befitting don't you think?! ENJOY :)
